The Schuyler Health Foundation and its partner program, Gorges Givers, have received grant funding from the Watkins Glen Elks Lodge through the Elks National Foundation’s Beacon and Spotlight Grant program, which awarded a total of $11,000 to eight organizations serving Watkins Glen and Schuyler County.

The Schuyler Health Foundation received a $3,000 grant to purchase mobility equipment that will enhance patient care and support services for patients and residents. Gorges Givers was awarded $1,000 to continue providing support to Schuyler County women navigating cancer treatment and recovery.

The Schuyler Health Foundation is the charitable arm supporting Schuyler Hospital, a member of Centralus Health, and works to advance healthcare services throughout Schuyler County through philanthropy, community partnerships, and charitable giving.

The grants build on the Watkins Glen Elks Lodge’s ongoing commitment to local healthcare and community wellness initiatives. In 2025, the organization contributed an additional $6,000 to support the Schuyler Health Foundation, including funding for rehabilitation services at Schuyler Hospital and direct support for Gorges Givers.

Since 2020, grants from the Watkins Glen Elks Lodge have provided $25,000 to support programs and services at Schuyler Hospital. Since Gorges Givers was established in 2023, the organization has received $2,500 in funding through the partnership.

“Community partnerships play a vital role in helping us advance healthcare services and improve quality of life for residents across Schuyler County,” said Kim Sprague, director of the Schuyler Health Foundation. “We are incredibly grateful to the Watkins Glen Elks Lodge and the Elks National Foundation for their continued generosity. This funding will help us provide essential mobility equipment that supports patient care while also strengthening the work of Gorges Givers as it assists local women facing cancer treatment and recovery. The Elks’ longstanding commitment to our community continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and families.

“The Watkins Glen Elks Lodge has been a dedicated partner in strengthening healthcare services in Schuyler County,” Sprague added. “Their support of both the Schuyler Health Foundation and Gorges Givers demonstrates the impact community organizations can have when they work together to improve the health and well-being of their neighbors.”
