Centralus Health is proud to announce that the Falck Cancer Center at Arnot Ogden Medical Center has earned accreditation from the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Commission on Cancer (CoC), a significant achievement that underscores the center’s commitment to delivering high-quality, multidisciplinary, patient-centered care.

The accreditation marks the culmination of a focused, four-year effort to restore Commission on Cancer accreditation at the Falck Cancer Center. Achieving this milestone required extraordinary dedication from team members across the organization, who worked tirelessly to strengthen programs, enhance processes, track outcomes and ensure compliance with the Commission on Cancer’s rigorous standards.

“This is a tremendous achievement for our organization and our community,” said Steven Heneghan, MD, co-Chief Medical Officer of Centralus Health. “Four years ago, we committed to restoring this accreditation, knowing it would require significant effort, collaboration and dedication. Today, that commitment has been realized. I am incredibly proud of the physicians, nurses, cancer registry staff, quality teams and support personnel whose hard work made this accomplishment possible. Most importantly, this accreditation reinforces our promise to provide patients with the highest standards of cancer care close to home.”

Commission on Cancer accreditation is awarded to cancer programs that demonstrate excellence in patient care, quality improvement, data management, treatment planning and outcomes measurement. Accredited programs are recognized for their commitment to continuous improvement and for ensuring patients have access to comprehensive, coordinated services throughout every stage of their cancer journey.

In addition to earning Commission on Cancer accreditation, Arnot Ogden Medical Center has been recognized as an ACS Surgical Quality Partner, reflecting the hospital’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards in surgical care and patient outcomes.

The Falck Cancer Center’s achievement comes alongside another important milestone for Centralus Health. The Cayuga Cancer Center, also part of the Centralus Health system, recently earned Commission on Cancer reaccreditation as well. Together, these accomplishments highlight Centralus Health’s systemwide commitment to advancing cancer care and expanding access to nationally recognized oncology services across the region.
