Schuyler Hospital and Cayuga Health officials are pleased to announce a generous charitable donation to the Schuyler Health Foundation from the Watkins Glen Elks Lodge #1546.
The Elks Lodge contributed a total of $6,000 in support of local healthcare initiatives. Of that, $4,000 will be directed to Schuyler Hospital Rehabilitation Services for the purchase of a new treadmill, enhancing physical therapy and rehabilitation offerings for patients. An additional $2,000 was donated to Gorges Givers, a partner of the Schuyler Health Foundation, to support women in Schuyler County who are battling cancer.
“We are deeply grateful for the continued generosity of the Watkins Glen Elks Lodge and the national Elks organization,” said Kimberly Sprague, Director of the Schuyler Health Foundation. “Their commitment to our community and our hospital is unwavering. These donations will have a meaningful impact on both our rehabilitation services and the lives of local women facing cancer.”
The donation was made possible through a grant from the National Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks of the USA, also known as the Grand Lodge.
To date, the Elks have donated $25,000 to Schuyler Hospital and $3,500 to Gorges Givers, supporting a range of community health needs.
“Our mission is to uplift the Watkins Glen and Greater Schuyler County communities,” said Tom Phillips, Treasurer of the Watkins Glen Elks Lodge and member of the Schuyler Health Foundation Board of Directors. “We are proud to contribute to efforts that directly improve the lives of our neighbors.”
